  • I really hope he's able to come back. I think in the end our offense will be able to get it done but I'd rather not win agaisnt a back up QB.
Fuuck TTC - I'm moving on.

"Ew. I've read all of two posts from you, and you stink like rotting garbage."
  • its really sad.... I am bummed!  not much of a game Crying  Hook em Horns!
  • I really hope Colt McCoy is okay.  I always hate when players get hurt....they have so much of a future ahead.

Cinnabun and Junebug say, "Go Wildcats!"

  • They said he won't come back this half...but I'd bet anything he'll be back after halftime.

  • It will be interesting to see if Colt comes back after halftime.

  • I have been cheering hardcore for Alabama but.......ugh, I just feel so bad for Gilbert.  The Texas offensive line has got to step up and help him out. The camera just showed him on the sideline talking to a teammate and he looked near tears - nearly broke my heart.

Can I root for Alabama and Gilbert at the same time? Is that okay????

  • Yeah, it's sad that Gilbert will become the scapegoat if they lose this game.  He's not ready to play on this stage yet- he's just a kid and he didn't take that many snaps in the regular season.  It's not his fault that he doesn't have experience.

  • Just said he's not coming back.  Texas is screwed.

  • I am very surprised he is not coming back. I thought for sure he would be back after the half.

Why was security on the field? I missed it. I just heard the announcers say security was on the field for an idiot.

  • Security was on the field for a naked guy streaking across the field.

Hmmmm....it looks like McCoy has his pads back on..........

((ugh, still feel terrible for that Gilbert kid. I am getting too damn soft in my old age!))

Nights like tonight make me glad I'm no longer in Alabama.  They're going to be more obnoxious than usual.

Yeah, it's sad that Gilbert will become the scapegoat if they lose this game.

Its very sad especially since the Texas receivers have dropped multiple really, really good passes.  Okay, the pass he threw wasn't that great but Jesus!  He can really throw!

(My husband has suggested that tomorrow I make an appointment to visit a doctor. He is concerned about me feeling bad for Gilbert. I also made a comment earlier about how I felt bad for Mack Brown and he considered taking me to the emergency room. He is convinced I hit my head while at work today!)

  • I hope Gilbert doesn't come out of this game too discouraged. By all accounts he has a lot of potential and he has been dropped into pretty much the worst-case senario. And his offense (I think oupinkkitty mentioned this) is not giving him the all out effort he needs. The passes are not going to be as polished, adjust! There have been a few catchable balls dropped, and that last play the receiver just stopped running!

I didn't go into this game rooting for either team, but now I gotta root for Gilbert. Poor kid, rough break for him and for Colt.  And for Alabama for that matter. I'm sure they wish they could get a W and spend tomorrow listening to everyone talk about how good they were, and not about Colt and how good they might be.

Very, very well said.  Both teams are getting screwed in this.

Exactly.  Shipley isn't doing this poor kid ANY favors.

Gently and lovingly remind them that this is their EIGHTH title, not thirteenth as they claim.

  • Texas defense and receivers are emerging from their stupor. Might be able to make some plays... This game is getting more interesting.

Is it just me or did it seem like this half Saban was more concerned about running down the clock than actually playing ball?  This plan is biting him in the @ss, that's for sure.

I am really proud of Gilbert.  I just want him to play a good, close game so he doesn't need a lifetime of therapy to recover.  He is going to be pretty damn good next year.

A Cinderella story win would be fun to watch, but I agree. And I think he's already redeemed himself for an understandably rough start. Even a close loss is going to turn out pretty well for him, a LOT of people are going to know his name. DH is making fun of me because I am emotionally invested now. I'm a huge sucker for an underdog!

DH keeps getting mad at me and rolling his eyes when I cheer for Gilbert.  I feel hopeful Gilbert won't go back to his hotel room and throw back a bottle of Tylenol so I am back to full force Bama cheering now!

  • Haha, fair enough. And Bama can definitely take credit for a really, really nice defensive play to get the ball back. I am looking forward to keeping an eye out for Gilbert next year.
