i bought an aloe vera plant at ikea today cuz im trying to get more plants in our house and i could have sworn that aloe was safe around cats and dogs...turns out it's toxic 
i was all excited and planted it in a pot when we got home...guess it's going on top of the fridge

Good to know.
On the plus side, you can break off a piece of the plant, get the sap to use in your hair while you shower. My mom used to do this for me when I was little. Made the hair shiny.
