Hi there,
I saw your response to my post the other day. I am thinking that I will for sure have a doula if I do not go the midwife route. However, the only local hospital that I have heard uses midwives is Evanston. Do you know if there are any hospitals anywhere up here that have midwives or allow midwives?
I am not comfortable with a home birth for my first....but maybe down the road.

As far as hospitals, I am open. I live in Grayslake so.....Condell, Northwest Community (in Arlington Heights), Highland Park, Evanston,......really any.
