I got him last night from The Director's house. He was seriously spooked around us. Any sudden movements would send him running. He wouldn't even sniff my hand. By then end of the night, he had warmed up to us a bit.
He is really weird about food. He won't eat out of the bowl, or take any food/treat from my hands. We put his food on the floor, and that was the only way he would eat. He got skiddish again around breakfast.
I'm pretty sure something happened to him. However, he loves Jake and they spent hours last night chasing each other around. Also, he's a humper. He has learned that he isn't to hump Jake, so he'll stand next to Jake and air hump. Lord have mercy.
He is a pretty small guy. And Jake is an uber tall pug, so Jake is about a head taller than Axel. Axel has such little legs, he can't keep up with Jake. It's cute to see Jake slow down to let Axel catch up with him, then Jake will speed off again. It's nice to have two in the house again.
Re: Axel
Axel is 1 and a half, and has AKC papers, but he is by no means a show pug. (Jake has AKC papers, and he is the most abby-normal pug there is).
Jake was *made* for fostering.
Axel reminds me a lot of Taz. They both have big paws for their size and the same build. Taz, of course, was always looking in two different directions and was bigger than Axel.
I can't wait to learn more about his personality. Basically, we were loving on Jake in front of Axel, so Axel could see we are OK. I am letting him come to me and not forcing myself on him. This morning when I left, he licked my nose
I just a friendly gal looking for options.
