DH's 30th Birthday Bash Ideas
So my husband will be turning 30 on the 31st and I want to plan something big for him, but I'm just not sure what to do. The one major damper on all of this is that I just got a huge pay cut at work, so I can't throw as much money into it as I originally wanted to.
I thought about reserving a party room at a restaurant downtown and paying for a buffet style dinner for everyone and then heading downtown afterward. I want to invite all of his friends and keep it a surprise until we show up wherever we decide to have this shindig.
Please let me know if you have any recommendations on restaurants and anything else creative that you have done or seen in the past that I may try on a limited budget.

I think that would be a fabulous idea. Though if his friends are anything like ours, they'd expect to chip in for the meal so maybe you can save on that there and then either buy everyone a round of drinks downtown after dinner or get a room at the Hilton to crash in.
I did a surprise dinner for DH once at NXNW and it was awesome. He was just so touched that so many people came out for him. I don't think it needs to be elaborate, just meaningful.
Max's Wine Dive is great for groups, IMO, and they're downtown.
