SIL is getting married and sent me this blurb about a Photographer. What do you think about the price?
4 hr session before the wedding....w/ complete wedding album and an 11x14 portrait is $1050. That does NOT include any pics at the actual wedding/reception. Then there's a 6 or 8 hr package. 8 hr package is $2500!!
Re: WDYT?
That sounds extremely reasonable to me. Do the wedding/reception packages include an album, prints, and rights to the photos?
I paid slightly less for I think 10 hours total. That said, I wish I'd gone with the more expensive photographer I was looking at because I'm not thrilled with my pictures.

I think, "huh?"
We paid a buttload for our photographer, but we got an engagement shoot, getting ready shots, all day at the wedding, 3 big albums, 8 tiny albums, 250 wallets, a 16x16 portrait, 2 8x10 portraits and a whole load of other stuff. We traded some of that stuff for additional pages in the album.
price sounds about average, really. i'd opt for the longest amount of time and possible overtime. why bother with a professional if you're only have the photographer part of the day?
there are also less expensive ones out there if she looked, i am sure. if she's on a budget, she should keep going. it's all digital anyway so as long as she can get the prints on a CD (and knows what her must-takes are) it won't matter who she has taking the shots.
of course, she should see their work and make sure they aren't notorious for chopping heads and feet off.
I had to read that twice before I figured out that they were probably talking about bridal portraits or e-pics for the first price. Not sure where that blurb was from, but I'd re-think them for their lack of advertising clarity (but I'm picky like that).
Price-wise that sounds pretty reasonable to me.

I can't wait for the "im getting a divorce" post in 5 years or so because your husbands were fed up with your disgusting chair asses from playing on the knot all day and getting fired 4-5 times for not doing any work. you guys are all winners!! ~ Laur929
Oh, is the 4 hour session an engagement shoot? I thought it was the getting ready/formal shots.
I forgot that we did get an engagement session with our package. This reminds me I have to get in touch with the photographer about my album.

Here's why I don't trust it. SIL didn't get any samples, it's from a friend of fBIL's sister (sigh) and all they provided her with was a price sheet. How do I link that from my computer?
It looks like the $1050 is for the album, a print, your proofs and 4 hours before the wedding as in,
-family photos
-getting ready
-bride & groom
-wedding
The money after that is for anything after that with some extras like a framed portrait instead of just the print.
