Must be the lapsed Catholic in me.
I'm fascinated by other people's tragedy blogs, esp. if they are baby-related. That guy whose wife died of a blood clot after giving birth (http://www.mattlogelin.com/archives/2008/04/13/what-happened/), the people in Texas who lost four of their sextuplets (http://stanseljourney.blogspot.com/), this one (http://embracingelijah.blogspot.com/). I don't know why. They do make me really, really grateful that all is well with Maddie, though.
Schadenfreude? It sounds so insensitive--it's not like I'm sitting here saying, "Better you than me!"
Nevertheless, they suck me in, and I'm not especially proud of it.

I can't wait for the "im getting a divorce" post in 5 years or so because your husbands were fed up with your disgusting chair asses from playing on the knot all day and getting fired 4-5 times for not doing any work. you guys are all winners!! ~ Laur929
