Re: Chicago?

  • I made a trip there last year. It is a wonderful city. I was only there for 4 days but we made the best of that time.

    My must sees are:

John Hancock Tower (For an amazing view of the city), Millennium Park (this is where the bean is), Magnificent Mile (for some retail therapy), Field Museum (it was free the day we went) Lincoln Park Zoo (amazing FREE zoo), Navy Pier (a carnival like area right by the pier). They also have this double decker bus that you can ride to get to all these locations. I think the company is called grayline. It's how we got around mostly. Also, we went to this amazing pizza joint called Gino's East. They have several locations around the city.

I have pictures of this trip on my FB.

  • Well Sandy gave you an awesome review!!!

I love love love Chicago!  Went for our anniversary trip back in Nov. and we are dying to go back.  We went for 5 days and it was not enough...there are so many things to see and do.  I highly recommend you get the Chicago City Pass (www.citypass.com

You must go to Lou Malnatti for pizza...awwww the best!!!  for transportation, we got the city pass for 4 days and it was the best thing we did... The Hancock Tower has an amazing view (best one is from the ladies bathroom) - and the Willis Tower (the ledge) is amazing!!! I love Chi-Town!!!

    gogogogo!!

  • If you want to see an amazing view of the city, the John Hancock is the best... BUT rather than pay to go to the observation deck, there is a restaurant called the signature room on the 95th floor, its higher than the observation deck, and doesnt cost anything besides what you order! We always go there and order a drink and enjoy the view as opposed to paying the fee to go to the observation deck.

  • If you like museums, you could spend 2 days (seriously) exploring The Field Museum of Natural History. it is AMAZING... Especially the dinosaur room. We only spent half a day there and it was not enough time. I absolutely loved it.

  • i was born there!!  we just went back in October...all the suggestions are great.  i actually used yelp when we were there and put in the zip code of the area we would be in (i think i figured that out using my phone gps...who knows) and it would give me all the highly rated restaurants.  they also have a new times type city guide on citysearch.com that works.
