Finally moved in

With internet!

So we moved in Thursday, closed on Wed. Two hours after we closed, I heard some water dripping in the basement, yup, the water heater apparently rusted out from the inside and leaked all over our finished basement. Of course the house is a short sale, so, sold as is. That wasn't fun at all. But, it could have been so much worse! At least we didn't have anything down there yet, so nothing was ruined, possibly the carpet, but that can be replaced.

Other than that, everything is great. The cats seem to be adjusting well and now we feel civilized again with cable. We've got a LOT unpacked so far, considering the set backs we had.

Well, off to do some grocery shopping! I'll have to catch up on posts later.

Re: Finally moved in

  • YAY, Jodi!  Congrats - homeowner!!  Thanks for the update - sorry about the water heater - look forward to hearing more!
  • Congrats on closing and moving in!

If it's a ton of water that leaked in your basement abd soaked through the carpet you might want to get the carpet up ASAP, because it can make whatever is underneath it (I'm assuming concrete) moldy.

  • Congrats Jodi!!!  At long last, you are in the house!  It must feel great!
