Best place to buy a home stripper pole?
Do you know the best place online to buy a good portable stripper pole? Thought i would surprise DH w/ this for V-Day
Also if you have one, what brand do you have? There are so many choices when i googled it - who knew LOL
Thanks!
Stef
Re: Best place to buy a home stripper pole?
I just poked around online for a bit. If you don't want to screw anything into your ceilings, it will probably be ~$300 for a good, springloaded pole. This one seems to be the best: http://www.amazon.com/X-Pole-50mm-Dancing-Xpole-Striptease/dp/B000SJFS5A/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=sporting-goods&qid=1263048643&sr=8-3
However, you can make one for about $60 if you're okay with it being semi-permanent. http://www.instructables.com/id/DIY-Stripper-Pole!-Stripper-not-included/
Please please please do NOT buy a peekaboo pole. I've been pole dancing for 2 years, from an instructor who's danced for 20 and been teaching for 8. I belong to a forum that is strictly for people who pole (please don't confuse this with stripping as it is not at all the same) I have tried 2 different poles, and like the Platinum Stages pole the best.
Platinum Stages and by far the best ones you can get in North America. Lil Minx is fairly good as well. The UK polers typically buy the X-Pole.
A PS/X Pole/ Lil Minx pole does not ruin your ceiling if you want a removable one. I've moved from 3 different rental apartments and have never had a problem. You do not need to drill holes in your ceiling. It works on preassure, rather than springs, which is much much safer. Kind of like a car jack if you want to think of it that way.
Steel, like the PS poles are, are probably your best bet as they last a long time and are very strong. Brass is good, but definately more sticky. They are weighted to 250lbs and you'd have a hard time pulling it down on yourself. (I've seen someone do a simple spin on a peekaboo and it came down on her. Not fun)

If you want more information, please contact me. I probably know someone in your area, or close to that can ship to you and save you a bit of money.
If you're interested in classes I probably can find a great studio near you as well.
This is my passion and I love it. I like to share, but feel free to tell me where to go if you don't want any advice
I get very excited when someone wants to try pole. It's very addicting! And a fabulous workout, not to mention good for the sex life haha

I am not proud of this but after reading this thread and checking out classes offered locally I went to amazon, read some reviews, and wound up buying a two hundred dollar pole.
I don't even know if FI is going to like it once he knows how much it cost! Ugh! I hate late night impulse buys!
that is AWESOME!! What kind did you get Kbrook?
Welcome to your newest addiction hahaha

I got an X Pole.
I found this web site online called BeSpun.com and they have a youtube channel and oh. my. god. The things they can do are amazing! I want to be able to do that!
I read a lot of reviews on the X poles and everyone seems to really like them.
Do you have any recommendations for pole dancing workout dvds? I want to get a really good one.
I can't find the x pole on amazon for 200.00
Do you have a link? That's the one i was wanting to get!
and Mcdole8 thanks for the email w/ all the info!!!
Oops, sorry, worded my OP wrong. I went on Amazon and read a ton of reviews on several different poles but the X pole seemed the best by far. Then I went to Ebay, found a top rated seller that was auctioning one and my final winning bid was $200.50. My Mom orders off of Ebay all of the time and has never had a problem but I always find top rated sellers, just me being nervous I guess. The one I found was new in the box and the seller has a return policy. Super!
There is a ton of them on there so if you are okay with ordering off of Ebay check it out.
Hey, mcdol - me, me, me, I'm interested! mcgrad2003@yahoo.com

MS is Mississippi right? I didn't find any, but you might consider online pole classes. You take them in your home over something like Skype. It's awesome.
Try www.wikipole.org
and try www.polejunkies.com The forum there is good for tons of pole information
You guys have no idea how happy it makes me that this thread is so open and interested
Thank you!!
