Planning Early for a Christmas in July Party
Alright- I know it's insanely early to start planning, but DH and I just decided we want to have a Christmas in July party this summer. I was just wondering if anyone had any great ideas. Ways to put a twist on Christmas and make them more "summery!"
I thought it would be a good idea to get some things at the store now, while I can still find Christmas stuff (plus it will be on sale!)

Re: Planning Early for a Christmas in July Party
PP's summer Santa sounds like fun. Maybe DH could wear something similar to greet guests. Maybe even have people sit with him for a photo op!
A red fruity signature drink in Xmas cups (that you might find for cheap at stores now)
Red and white beach balls as decor?
Maybe you can find some clearance ornaments and lights now to decorate a palm tree at the party.
Good luck! Sounds like fun.
For a drink, you could do cosmos served in martini glasses with green rimming sugar. I did those for a bachelorette party in december, but they'd be even better in the summer since they're served cold.
What about making christmas cookie ice cream sandwiches for desert? That would be a cute take on christmas cookies. You could also do chocolate covered strawberries using red and green chocolate. Strawberries would be in season in the summer so they'd be cheaper than doing them now.
Sounds like fun!
