As I posted earlier, we are having my daughter baptized on Valentine's Day. The service will be in the morning and will be done by 10:00. We are planning on having a brunch afterwards at my parents' house. Any ideas for what to serve? We were also thinking of doing another dessert instead of cake. Maybe some strawberry tarts for Valentine's Day. I am guessing there will be about 30 people there. TIA

Re: After baptism brunch
I'm not a cook, so sorry can't help you there. But just wanted to make a suggestion... when a friend of mine was in the same exact situation as you.. service over by 10 and brunch at home, she hired two ladies that were at the house getting everything ready while we were all at church
They weren't cooking, but they were heating up and getting ice and drinks out, that kind of thing so it was all out when guests got there. Just an idea.
Btw, I think the tarts sound delicious!
I would do a few different mini quiches, some bagels with various toppings, muffins, raspberry cream pavlovas, and some breakfast proteins (bacon, sausage) and lunch proteins (mini crab cakes, chicken satays, etc). Basically, unless you were planning on having a seated dinner, I would do finger foods.
A big ditto on hiring someone to set up. Whatever you serve, make sure that it can all be done ahead of time.
Definitely try to have someone that can help. 10 is almost more breakfast than brunch. Mini quiches or egg casseroles, yogurt parfaits, potato casserole, fruit salad.
It's not fancy, but we did this at my last family get together- sausage gravy and biscuits. You can make it ahead and just heat up that morning.
