Tulips

Time got away from me this year and when I did have it, the weather was too bad to plant my tulip bulbs.  Is it too late to plant now for spring bloom or should I wait until next fall?

Re: Tulips

  • I planted mine late one year and they came up BUT they were short and stocky!
  • Where do you live?

If you are already frozen solid, I would plant them in a planter, with potting soil and let them chill in the garage so they don't get a deep freeze. Maybe this way you will get a bloom but not have to wait a year.

  • After the weather this last couple of weeks across the country, i don't know how you're going to plant them outside. Surely a lot of ground is now frozen and too hard to dig.  And it's a bit late for them to go thru their process and bud properly next Spring.
