NJ nestie-considering moving to the Raleigh area

Hi girls..I hope you don't mind me dropping in on your board.

DH & I are seriously considering moving outside the Raleigh area.  Can you give me some names of towns that are nice?  I've been told to look at Apex, Holly Springs & Cary...any others?  Is there any towns you wouldn't want to live in?

anything you can tell me about the area, schools, property taxes would be very helpful!  TIA

Re: NJ nestie-considering moving to the Raleigh area

  • Welcome!  We moved here in March from WV and we love it.  We live in N. Raleigh which I like, but it is a more expensive area home wise.  We are currently looking for a home in Apex/Cary/Holly Springs area.

My only advice is do not move until one or both of you have a job in the area.  There are so many people moving in all the time and it does make it hard for newcomers (and those that have lived here) to gain employment.

  • thanks Jenna!  We would absolutely not move unless DH had a job down there (he works for Costco & I know there is one in Raleigh).  He's also sending out his resume to other places as well.
