Wireless Bridge for Printer
I figure this is a longshot, but if anyone has any experience/knowledge of using a wireless bridge with a printer, I am having some trouble.
I have a linksys bridge connected to my linksys network and my hp printer. The problem is that when the printer goes to sleep, the bridge makes the printer offline, and i cannot figure out how to get it online.
Linksys live chat was no help and I haven't found anything through google.
I had no issues with this before when the printer was connected to my router, but the router has been moved downstairs with the tv and receiver.
Thanks!
Re: Wireless Bridge for Printer
Are you sure it's the bridge that's responsible and not the printer itself? When it was on the wired network and went to sleep, was there a way to activate it remotely across the network? Because in theory that should still work over the wireless network.
Unfortunately, I don't have any other advice. We used a Belkin wireless bridge (actually, just a second Belkin router set to bridge mode) to connect our printer for a few years and never had any problems with it. However, we kept the printer off most of the time anyway, so we manually powered it on when we wanted to use it.
One surefire solution - Upgrade to a wireless printer.
So much easier than dealing with the bridge!
