Need prayers for my Grandfather please...

My grandfather was rushed to the hospital yesterday morning because he began coughing up lots of blood.  (This is the one that had the massive stroke about 6 years ago).

They did tests last night on his heart and lungs to try to figure out what was wrong and where the blood was coming from.  Well a test revelaed that he has something similar to what killed John Ritter, only they think they caught it in time.  He (my grandfather) has an embolism of blood in his lung that is pressing very close to his aorta.

The doctors said he/we have two choices, do nothing, but then he is like a ticking time bomb, if the embolism burts it will literally kill him almost instantly.  It could burst today, tommrow, next week, next month, etc. we just wouldn't know, but it would burst eventually and it would kill him.

Or he can have a very risky surgery to break up the embolism safely.  They said if it's sucessful he should be fine, but they mentioned the very risky part (because they need to operate very close to his aorta and that is never a good thing) and the chance of death with this procedure was high many, many times while they were explaining the procedure to us.  I know they have to explain this part to you, but it was still not thing we wanted to hear over and over again.  He concented to the surgery, (at least he has a chance this way, rather than to do nothing).  They need to stabilize him a bit more before they can operate (he has been on blood thinners since the stroke, so his blood is too thin at this moment), so they will operate either Tuesday or Wednesday.  If you could please say a prayer for him I would appreciate it.  He has been through a lot in the past six years, we are hoping he has just a bit more strenghth left in him to make it through this.  Many Thanks!!
