people, you live in flucking MICHIGAN, it should not come as a shock

that you have to DRIVE IN SNOW.

learn how to do it!

embrace it!

I'm OK w/ you going 45 on the freeway because it's slick in spots.

I'm NOT Ok w/ you taking up all 3 lanes intermittently at 28 mph because you can't figure this out.  Because really, I still need to get to work.

Oh, and Mr. "My SUV can handle going 75"?  I hate you to.  Your damn accident made me later.

  • 1.  I have to say, one of the things that I love about living in the south is the way that everything shuts down once you get more than a dusting of snow.  People don't expect you to make it to work or anywhere else.  It's like the fun of having a snow day from school.

    2.  I can't say that I enjoyed Michigan winters very much.  To this day, the words "lake effect" send a chill down my spine.

  • at least I dont live w/ my sister in grand-frigin-rapids, where lake effect actually means "oh, you get 12 inches while the rest of the state gets 2"  :-P
  • I am from Grand Rapids, and now live in the south. I actually sometimes miss the real winters, but do love the complete shut downs we have in TN when it snows. I don't sit home, and all the people are alwasys OMG you can't drive in this. Yeah, I took my drivers test way back in the day in over a foot, it can be done.

That's exactly where we used to live, so you can see why I don't miss it!

  • I'm in TX this week, and am lauging at all of the the people that are going "OMGWTF....*shiver* SO COLD!" - it's in the 40s right now, and getting into the 50s later - it's supposed to hit 60 on Wednesday. I realize this is "cold" for them, but it was 20-something when I flew out of Philly yesterday.
