I am hoping for some help!!! I'm a DC nestie but I lived in WI for about 20 years. I've been in DC for 10 years and my DH is turning 30 in March, he's also from WI.
Since we have all of our family and good friends still in WI I'd like to throw a suprise 30th birthday party for DH. My in laws are suggesting their house and have it catered but I don't want to do that for a few reasons 1. We stay at their house when we come in town and 2. It won't be much of a suprise since he'll recognize the cars on the street etc.
Where do you suggest? All of the family/friends are in the Brookfield area. The suggestions I've gotten so far are Charcol Grill, Cheesecake Factory and Mamma Mia's (this is where our rehersal dinner was)....
I know planning this and being 1500 miles away will not be easy so any suggestions I can get will be very helpful!! Where else would you suggest? I was thinking there'd be about 50 people and I don't want a hotel but I'd like the guests to chose from 2 or 3 dinners.
Thanks
Re: 30th bday places - help a DC nestie out
I know there is a Bravo! by the mall and i think they have a private room. Sorry, I'm not a lot of help since I'm not super close to the Brookfield area either. I know there is also a Claim Jumper's there now too but I've never been there. If you are willing to go to Milwaukee there is always Bucca di Beppo which serves family style.
Call the Bravo in Brookfield. The woman who coordinates everything is really helpful. My aunt planned my bridal shower there, and it was great. Everyone got to pick from 2 or 3 salads and 4 mains, and it was all a set price.
Panos
Loaf & Jug (they're open for lunch, but they do parties after hours
Cafe Hollander or Firefly in Tosa (both on the Village)
Hollander and Firefly would be the hip options.
In Brookfield, there's also The Venice Club. Or in Elm Grove, there's the Silver Spur or O'Donoghues.
With all due respect to the previous posters, I would not plan this party for a chain restaurant.
Happy Planning!
