Busybride, Carrieland, theatre ladies :)
Hi guys!! My husband's theatre company is gearing up for their next production in March and we're looking for theatre websites, blogs, etc, to reach out to and see if they'll take listings (blurbs, performance time and place) for the show. Do you ladies know of any?
TIA!!
Edit: we're also looking for Shakespeare and Kenneth Branagh websites/blogs. I'm going to do some research too!!
Re: Busybride, Carrieland, theatre ladies :)
Hey!
Did you guys make a press release yet? If so, I would send it to all the regulars: playbill.com, times, variety, village voice, time out, ny mag, theatermania.com, offoffonline.com, curtainup.com, showbusinessweekly.com, nytheatreguide.com.
That way you might be able to get a listing and/or a review. Not sure if/how much they charge. I have examples of press releases if you need one, but I am sure you have done them before. Obviously, social media is huge these days- facebook, myspace and twitter are good places to advertise. You also might want to look into buying a mailing list. My friend works for a company that handles mailing list exchanges for all the performing arts groups in the city. Let me know if you want her contact info.
Also, get your postcards out all over the place. especially at all the "cool" hang outs in the village and brooklyn/queens.
Have fun!
Yep, we do all that stuff! (sorry, i should have mentioned that in my post as well...) *And* his company has an FB page!!
They also make posters and walk around the city seeing what businesses will let them post them.
Thanks!!
