AW: I know you want to know...

I'm having a BOY!!! Found out this afternoon at the big ultrasound. He's healthy and measuring a few days ahead. We can't decide on a name, so no name yet. Suggestions welcome!

Re: AW: I know you want to know...

  • YAAAAAAAAY!

(This is one of those times when I'm happy I'm home alone because I literally squee-ed "Yay" outloud as soon as I opened this thread.)

I love the following boys names: Owen, Justin, James, Joshua, Peter, Liam

  • Congrats!  Our boy names are Jacob (after my grandpa), Donovan (a twist on his grandpa Donald's name), Jadon (a combo of the two), or Christian (our faith and we're big hockey fans).

  • oooh YAY congrats!!! that is so exciting!!

I hear mash-up names are big now. My bro & his lady are expecting, and their fav boy name so far is Brody (combo of their names, Bret and Jodee)

    Conga-rats!

Our boy name is Brady Patrick for any future spawn. I also love the names Jackson and Jacob.

I'm friends with everybody in this office. We're all best friends - I love everybody here. But sometimes your best friends start coming into work late, and start having dentist appointments that aren't dentist appointments. And that's when it is nice to let them know that you can beat them up.
  • congratulations! that is VERY exciting news!!

  • Thanks all! And thanks for the name suggestions. A lot of these I like and DH has already nixed. Especially Jacob. Love that name.

  • Yay!  My favorite boys names are Robert and William.  Dh likes Allen.  We'll have to work on this.
  • Congratulations!!!

I hope I have a boy when the time comes, for some reason I just want a boy first.

Top of my list for boy names are Colton (which DH hates because of Colt McCoy - which is stupid, he doesnt even dislike/like UT), Holden (which I cant use with my last name), Caleb, Clayton (my cousin used this one), Tucker (my cousin used this one), Aiden (another cousin) and Lucas.

  • Congrats!!! That's so exciting!

Do you have any letters you want/don't want? Any name guidelines at all?

I love the names Jesse and James. I hate the name Rob. What about Roy Tel?

  • YAY! Congratulations! I knew you were!

I am a big fan of Holden for a boy ;) I also love Daniel.

  • Congrats!  Such fun news.  I will have to work on names for you...some of the families I work with have kids with such cute names.

Lark - when I was in high school I always dreamed of having a son named William Robert!  Weird!

  • I LOVE Holden! If I had my way, the kid would be Benjamin Holden, but alas DH doesn't like it.

We don't really have any name guidelines--it doesn't need to start with a certain letter or have a certain number of syllables. I don't know my father, so can't use a name from him. My grandfather was Nelson Garfield, and I'm not crazy about either of those names. DH's dad is William Eugene, and I'd be open to using William as a middle name but it would have to fit with a first name DH and I both like. Here are just a few names I like to give you an idea of my taste: Caleb, Ethan, Benjamin, Jacob, Holden, Alexander. DH doesn't like any, though thinks Alexander is okay. He really like Dominic, which is *okay* but I would definitely be settling because I don't love it with our last name (which starts with a hard C). DH also suggested Miles, which I initially didn't like too much but now am growing fond of. Just in time for DH to not like it anymore.

  • Yaaaay! Congrats! My two favorite boy names right now are Sullivan Thomas and Everett Braxton. We just happen to like the first names and both of those middle names are family names.

Oh, that is funny!  Robert is my dad's name, though he goes by Bob (which I don't particularly like--I think Robby is cute for a little kid, he can be Robert when he gets older).  William is the majority of my maiden name.

  • I like the name Cole.

    Yeah. ;)

What about Joshua? Joshua William C___?

It's hard to do this without a last name. FWIW, C and I have recently realized that we will not be able to name our children because we only come up with ridiculous names and can't be serious long enough to think of normal names.

  • ^tell me you're joking, Zee.
  • And btw, congrats to you. My friend is due this week. She is having a boy - naming him Jacob, I believe.
  • This could be a terribly bad assumption, but I assume the last name could possibly be COLEMAN, judging from her freakin' user name.

Then again, that could be her maiden name, but something tells me that it's not.

  • Congratulations!! That is very exciting!

Ah, shag, I should've known it would be you who would make this assumption. Wink The couple posts I made on baby names someone always assumes the name is Coleman. It's not. That's my maiden name. And the new, glossy married name is kind of unique so I don't want to put it on the internet. Call me paranoid...

  • I also made that assumption, which made reading your initial post (i.e. it starts with a hard "c") pretty comical, though I did wonder if your married name coincidentally started with a hard "c" too.

I would think, unless you specified that your SN is your maiden name, it's the logical conclusion.

  • Riley, Julian, Michael
  • I think she's said before that Coleman isn't her last name. At least that's what I remembered.
