I know, I know there was already a post about this but, can I be a big baby for a second?

I realize you can't count on the refs to call something like that but come on! Haha we are huge Green Bay fans and after coming back from a 21 point deficit, having Arizona's kicker miss the field goal, AND winning the coin toss, I just though it was meant to be...and then to lose because of a missed penalty (well, not totally because of that, but ya know) It was just heartbreaking. I had to literally wipe the tears from my boyfriend's eyes.

Hopefully next year is the year.

My thoughts:

The fumble occurred before the FM, and the FM had absolutely nothing to do with the fumble or the loss IMO.

The league got rid of the 5-yard incidental grabbing face mask penalty in 2008, and this seemed like incidental grabbing more than the 15-yard type penalty.

This.  AZ would have still won if they called the FM, but probably by kicking a field goal... That's a less exciting end to the game but I really don't think the FM mattered.

Also, I don't believe in blaming the officials for the win/loss.  GB had opportunities to win that game, or at least opportunities to be in a position where a non-call would not affect the outcome in such a way.

I'm bitter about the missed FM myself, but I agree with Blue on the above.
