Wedding Guest Book- Need Unique Ideas
Hey all Im helping my friend plan her wedding and she would like some ideas for her guest book, She wants something different and Unique.
Re: Wedding Guest Book- Need Unique Ideas
We did the same. It's more of a coffee table book with messages in it then a guest book.
Friends of ours got large vases that looked like wineglasses and had everyone sign in glass-permanent markers. They have them on their mantle and are filling them with wine/champagne corks from memorable events.
For showers, we've had people sign big serving dishes that you can put in the oven to seal the ink and make it food safe. I know Wrapables sells (or at least used to sell) wedding ones too.
Our Share of the Harvest:How a couple cooks from a CSA share. Pick Up Day Week 15
These are great ideas... keep em coming!
Their wedding is in early October and has some camo/hunting decor.
Other Ideas that you can help us tweek
They were thinking about framing a picture of the hunters Fleur di leis, and having guests sign the mat. ( we live in louisiana-sportsman paradise)
Her house is also decorate kinna country. What about a small 9 pain window that people can sign the glass panes and she can hang on her wall?
We did platters.

They give you a SPECIAL kiln save pen and the guests write their names on the platters we chose.
Similar to this:
You bake it and glaze it at home.
Ours was from a local ceramic store so we took it there and they did it for us.
i love them.
You could do an autograph quilt. Here is an example
Instead of a guest book I put out pieces of artisan paper with lots of different kinds of pens & a nice box with a slit in the top. People wrote out their wishes & congrats then put them in the box. We have a lot of artsy friends & family who put their own touch on the notes, it was really special. Plus, I was able to incorporate them into our wedding album.
We made small individual scrapbook style squares for guests to write on & I plan to include them in our wedding scrapbook
A Loisiana coffee table book?
For our wedding, I printed a large photo of our reception site (it was a restaurant on a bay that had an aerial shot available on their website) and had people sign there names on the actual photo. Lots of blue water, so lots of space. It's hanging in my dining room right now. Is there a similar photo that could make sense for them?
What about a having folks sign a wooden bench that they could keep on their porch? I've seen that in photos before.
We did the same, and keep in mind that things that this is a newer thing in the last few years, so even though a lot of people here have done it, doesn't mean a lot of guests have seen it
I have also seen people use wine bottles and have messages written on those
Or you can get some branches and have pieces of paper (leaves/flower shapes) and have people write wishes on those and place them on the tree
At our wedding, We had a poloroid photo guest book. I put one friend in charge of this, she went around and took pics of people in groups of 2-4 and then glued the pic into the book and had them sign their page.
At our Rehersal dinner, we had each guest sign in silver paint pens, on a wine bottle and on our one year anniv. we opened and drank the wine and remembered all the special guests at the rehersal dinner. Now it makes a nice decoration on our wine rack too.
I did this for a friend and had a camera set up at mine as well:
We took digital pictures of everyone and then had them write a note to the bride/groom on a sheet of white paper. We scanned all of the notes and made a photobook (we used blurb software - free online, but snapfish has similar things now too). We incorporated some of their professional pics in the albus as well. You get a really cute book then that looks super professional but at the same time has hand written notes (scanned) on the pages from the guests.
Photobooths are also getting big around here and they usually help you do a guestbook with the photobooth prints.
We sent recipe cards with all the invitations and asked guests to put a favorite family recipe on the card and bring it to the wedding with them. Then at the wedding we had a recipe card book and put all the recipes in them.
Its been fantastic to go through and try all the great recipes!
A friend of mine (who had a smaller wedding, this would be a lot of work for a bigger one) found a picture of everyone coming to the wedding. They made a book on blurb with the pictures, then everyone found their picture and signed by/on it like a yearbook or something. It was really cute.
I did the signature picture frame, our wedding was too big and I did not have time to dig up that many pics, otherwise I totally would have!
check out www.guestbookstore.com we did one for our wedding, it was a huge hit... we were married 6 years ago, and its still fun to look at from time to time.
