Hey, thanks for the restaurant info. I've not heard of that place, is it more like a bar or do they serve restaurant food as well? I'll have to check it out. How have you been? I'm guessing you are graduated, that's great! I'm starting my internship next month. Crazy, crazy! Were you one of the lucky ones to find a s.c. job anywhere?? I can't believe how hard it will be to find a job once I'm finally done with the program. Well, hope all is well with you.
Re: jaxsonb
I would say velvet lips is one of the nicer restaurants in Fort. It has a gorgeous bar with all of these chandaliers everywhere, but it's very affordable. For lunch they service sandwiches and entrees that range in price from $8-18. The restaurant is right below "I heart Funky's" on the river and on main street. But it just occured to me that they might have had flooding issues.
I graduated in May but I have been unlucky in the search for a job. I'm still working for the county working with victims of abuse, but I've been thinking about doing subbing to get my foot in the door. There were very few jobs posted in the area and it's been a frustrating process. I can't say for sure but I bet you'll have an advantage being a teacher.
Where are you doing your internship? Who's your internship supervisor at UW? I had a fantastic internship site, I wish there would have been a job opening! I did mine at a middle school and just absolutely loved it! Go figure!
I checked out their website and it looks really fun! I think that may be our spot. Thanks for the suggestion. I'll have to check on the possible flooding issues.
I hear you about the lack of job openings. Unless you are willing to relocate, it's really hard to find anything it seems. Gregg is my supervisor and I'll be at a middle school in the district where I'm currently working. I'm so excited to be working with middle schoolers again! It will be a nice switch from HS.
I bet you are glad to be done with the program. I haven't had a class since last December, so it will be strange heading back there one night a week, esp. now with a baby.
Hope you enjoy the rest of your summer!
