I think these are the two recipes H referenced when making cabbage rolls. I know he cut the head of cabbage in half, instead of trying to peel it after it was boiled (as to avoiding burning anything).
He probably also got creative with the spices in the stuffing. However, here is a jumping off point if you want to try these. They were good and would make an excellent side or main dish.
