Stupid Diva Cup question (maybe TMI)

So I love my Diva Cup!  It is seriously one of the best things I bought in 2009.  I've been using it for a few months now and I do have one question.

In the past, dh and have had sex occasionally while I was on my period.  Since using the cup we haven't though because I'm not really sure what to do with it during?  I have the pot that I boil it with at the end of each cycle, so I guess I could take it out, clean it and put it in there and then just clean it again after.  But that seems like a lot of work! lol!  I don't really love the idea of setting it anywhere else.

This is obviously not a big deal.  Neither dh nor I will die if we can't have sex during that time.  It just occurred to me that maybe you guys do something else with it that I hadn't thought of.  Thoughts?

I'd just wash it and put it in the case, or  rinse it and leave it on the counter until I was done and then wash it. If you're not comfortable leaving it out, you might just have to sanatize it like you mentioned .

DH and I never have sex during my period because I feel like POOP. He loves it though because it usually means he gets other things

anyway...near the end of my period, sometimes I take it out at night, and I wash it, then let it sit on some toilet paper on the counter. Maybe not the most sanitary, but ehh I'm not worried. i'm sure it'd be fine if you did that during sex

I dont wear mine overnight, and I always just wash it and put it in the case.  then wash again in the morning before using it.

I wash it in hot, soapy water and leave it by the sink to dry.  And then rinse it before popping it back in.  The whole planning to do more than that (like boiling it and stuff) would just kill sexytime for me!

My storage pouch fell apart and i'm too lazy to make a new one, so i keep it in an open-top jar in the medicine cabinet when i'm not using it (though i use it for the duration of my period; there's no option not to, for me).  You could also rinse it and set it on a washcloth, then rinse and insert when it's time again.

I just leave it on the edge of the sink.

It needs to be clean, but the reality is we put non-sterile things in our vaginas all the time if we have sex. A penis is much less sterile than a diva cup left by the sink for an hour.
