Hey!!
I'm a new "nestie". My boyfriend and I have been together for 3 years and are finally planning our wedding! So I'm on the knot, and saw this site as well and wanted to see what its about!
I'm almost 24 years old and am a real estate broker in Hillsboro Or. (Let me know if you or anyone you know is in need of Real Estate services!) I spend most of my time with my boyfriend and our 3 dogs. We love fishing and hiking/backpacking.
SO.... if anyone would fill me in about this site and tell me what you're favorite tool is and give any tips that would be awesome!
Also... how do I get the cute little pictures and stuff at the bottom of the screen? Thanks!
Re: New Nestie
Welcome! Have fun on theknot - there's great tools for budgeting, guest lists, etc. They also have a forum for you to connect with ladies based on topic or location.
To add a picture to your signature (SIG) - click on My Profile at the top of the page, then click on Edit My Profile. You can add HTML code to the signature box there. If you are using PhotoBucket, they will give you the HTML code for your picture.
You may also want to change your Nest name so that it doesn't include your last name.
Welcome!
I still have no idea how to add stuff on here.
Thanks!!!
It wont let me change my name though... it even says "once you choose a username it cant be changed" Oops! Oh well, my name is all over the web for my business anyway.
I like the budgeting tool... there is so much on this site it will take me a month just to go through everything!
The HTML thing sounds confusing. I stopped doing photobucket when I stopped doing Myspace so I'll have to learn that all over again!
Thanks again
Welcome to the board.
I don't post much but, the ladies are great here. Congrats on your engagement. TK was helpful for me when I was planning my wedding at my Grandparents house last summer. Lots of amazing ideas on there. Good luck in the planning process!
Honestly...you should really set up a new account. I've been on the knot/nest since 2004. I have seen people call up bakeries and cancel wedding cakes, or camcel wedding venues, etc. Nesties have gotten phone calls at work, their bosses have gotten calls, etc. I personally have had all kinds of stupid drama follow me around. There are CRAZY girls on these boards, and they lurk everywhere. Check out my "I hate the pets board" post and read some of the responses in there, you will see what I'm talking about.
All you have to do is set up a new hotmail account and sign up for a new Knot account, with a different username.
I'm with Jen...their are some CRAZIES out there! I'd change it, too if I were you.
But back to the ufn stuff-welcome to the board! Feel free to come on over from the knot to get a break from all the wedding drama!
Learning to start all over again... Blog
Yep. When I first joined the knot I had a link to my wedding webpage in my bio, and it had our last names and vendor info. I used to be on the wedding woes board regularly, and one day got into a fight with another semi-regular, and she made all these crazy threads with ALL of my personal info in them. Like "Jen sucks, Mike Lastname should not marry her at Jenkins Estate on June 26, she shouldn't get her cake from Beaverton Bakery, and Jitterblooms shouldn't do her flowers, cause she sucks". I was like "wtf?" and quickly took out all personal info...and luckily there were no issues with my wedding. But there has been alllll kinds of craziness on these boards.
PS- Salena- I completely forgot to say Welcome to the Nest! I hope you post more, join in on the fun! And just don't be too identifying, because there are some crazies, but most of us on the local board are awesome.
Welcome!
I was just in Forest Grove for a meeting the other night and thought the town was so cute that I called H and told him we should sell our house (LOL) and move there
Let it go....
Ughh what a pain! Women really can be horrible. Can I send personal messages on here? I've emailed member support so I can hopefully just change my username and not cancel everything I have saved. Crossing fingers!
Seriously? Hahahahahahahaha. I've let it go, thanks. It was an example of why you might not want your full name on a public messgae board.
