Hi!

Hi fellow SA nesties! I just got married on Dec 20 and thought I should move on over to the nest and introduce myself. It'll take some time getting used to calling you nesties instead of knotties.

A little about me... My name is Lindsay and my husband is Tyler. I moved to SA sophomore year of HS, which is where Tyler and I met. I went away to Texas Tech for freshman year of college and then moved to North Carolina for sophomore-senior year (basically to follow Tyler who had already been out there for a year). Now I'm back in SA for med school at UTHSCSA. My husband is still a student in North Carolina and actually just returned today for the spring semester. We've done LDRs in the past so we're basically pros by now, but it still kills me to be apart from him (I think even more so now since we're married). I have a house over by the health science center that DH will move into once he graduates in August. For now I share it with my housemate and my two dogs, Barkley and Sophie, who are like my kids.

I recognize a few girls on here who were on the knot not too long ago, and I look forward to meeting the rest of you!

Re: Hi!

  • Welcome Lindsey. I hear you on the how it sucks with to do the long distance thing. I did that for a while with my hubby before we got engaged. I hate it! Hope you are here all of the time.
  • Hi! I know what you mean about the long distance relationship, thats what we did before I moved down to San Antonio. Its good you know when he will be able to move, it always helps having a deadline.

I will be actually starting a new job at UTHSCSA on Feb 1st. Not part of the med school though. What kind of dogs do you have?

  • Thanks everyone! I will try my best to keep the board alive. :o) And it's very nice to hear of others who have also done the LDRs successfully, definitely helps when you have more support and advice.

I love UTHSCSA, so hopefully you enjoy your new job there.

Barkley is a 2 yr old male border collie/bernese mountain dog mix (or at least that's what we're guessing. He is the silliest dog I know, truly a complete goofball, but super sweet too. Sophie is a 3.5 yr old female golden retriever. We got her from a rescue group so she has some issues, but is a really sweet dog too.

I'm studying medicine there. I'm in my second year, which is still classroom learning. Next year I get to finally go to the hospitals more than just like once a month, so I'm getting excited about that. I don't know yet what area I want to go into, but I'm leaning toward something in internal medicine, maybe cardiology or rheumatology.
  • Linzlars!!!!!!!! Yay!!!! Welcome to the SA nest boards. I am so happy to see you over here. Now we just have to get Rachel and some of the regs from the knot boards and life will be complete Big Smile

August will be here before you know it!
