My heart goes out to Haiti today
Re: My heart goes out to Haiti today
I was listening to Canadian public radio news (better int'l news than NPR, IMO) this morning and had to turn it off because I was crying.
Those poor people.
And the lady in Montreal who was still waiting to hear from her daddy and doesn't know yet ripped my heart out
Wyclef Jean said he was on the phone with a friend and she said to him "An earthquake is coming" and he says, "What?" and the phone line went dead. She texted him a few minutes later that buildings were crumbling everywhere.(this was according to the guys on the radio)
Ugh. Apparently the building codes are non-existent there. If it stands it's livable. I mean think about it. San Fran had a 6.something years ago and buildings were going down left and right, and they have codes. I cannot even imagine what this has done to the people of Haiti... and then 2 large aftershocks, which are to be expected, but would scare theshit out of me after something like that.
I just a friendly gal looking for options.
