Food ideas needed - spa party

I?m hosting a spa party in a few weeks and am having a hard time coming up with ideas for light, spa-inspired appetizers to serve. Appointments will be between 11 am and 3 pm, so I?d like to offer something between a snack and a full meal. We?ll probably have mimosas to drink, but any food suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

  • I've been thinking of throwing a spa party myself, so I've given some thought about the menu.

    I think you could do things like soup, salad, or sandwiches.

    For a sandwich idea, I think chicken salad with slivered almonds and dried cherries would be a good choice.

    For a salad idea you could do a grilled chicken salad (if main course) or a great light and refreshing salad is romaine lettuce, with thinly sliced granny smith apples, pomegranate seeds and poppy seed dressing.

    If you wanted to do a soup a lemongrass soup with chicken or shrimp would be good.

    I think you should also have pitchers of water with fresh lemon slices.

    If it's earlier in the day you could bagels, cream cheese and fresh fruit.

    If it's later in the day you can do crudite, fruit skewers or cheese and crackers.

  • Fruits and Veggies to munch on, definitley, whole grain pitas and a hummus platter would be good as well.  I would offer more drink options, maybe some infused waters, a citrus-mint and a cucumber melon, and an herbal tea as well.  If you need more food ideas, I would suggest looking at popular spa menus for guidance, I love Camelback in Phoenix.

    These are good ideas. You could also do mini quiches if it is breakfast or tarts if it is lunch (trader joe's has some awesome ones)

    I would also do some infused water, or just put cucumber or fruit in a water jug/pitcher - that always seems spa like to me

    This.  I would just try to add some more protein.  Maybe assorted nuts, cheese/crackers, bagles/spread.  Think things you could serve in trays with out too much prep.

    And maybe some choco-covered strawberries or muffins for dessert.

  • For my nutrition final, we actually had to propose a spa menu.  Here's what I had in the appetizers category:

    Sundried tomato and cannelini bean dip served with rosemary, thyme and sea salt toasted pita chips

    Chilled cucumber soup with a red snapper croquette (for an hors d'oeuvre portion, put it in shot glasses)

    A few more options that would work for you would be these.

    Carrot, Ginger and Honey Soup Shooters

    Lemon and Saffron Chicken Skewers
