How much $ does it cost to add a deadbolt to front door?
I just bought a new house and the front door only has 1 key lock. I would like to add a deadbolt to it for safety. How much should that cost me so I know I will not be overcharged?
TIA!
Re: How much $ does it cost to add a deadbolt to front door?
I added one to my front door. It was about $10 for the set to make the hole. (It attaches to your drill and I picked it up at Lowes.) And whatever the cost of the deadbold was. I had NO idea what I was doing but there are instructions. Starting the hole in the door was the worst part but not too bad. There are adjustments you'll have to make to get the deadbolt to line up with the hole you create in the doorframe. It probably took me about an hour.
