Someone slap me

I'm having some serious anxiety about flying alone next weekend. I had a panic attack this morning because I realized I might need to check my luggage and I'm not totally sure if I do that at the ticket counter, or the guys who stand at the lobby entrance. *smh*

And before those of you who've flown a lot point & laugh, I've only flown twice in my life, the latter being almost three years ago. This will be the first time I've flown alone. I almost fainted the first time I flew, so I obviously have some issues with this.

Thank god it's a direct flight, or I might've pooped my pants trying to find the connecting terminal.

This might sound a little gross, but masturbation works the best after taking some Midol. Preferably not with your hand, a vibrating back massage will do the trick. It works like a charm and will definitely relax you enough to put you to sleep.

Just replace the word "cramps" with "Flying"

  • I think you should go inside, wait in line, and let the nice lady/man check you in.

I was going to say use the kiosk, but I don't want you to faint.:)

    You'll be fine.

  • MAYBE I DO!

I should demand that H fly home and escort me back to DC. On his parents' dime, of course. ;)

  • If you need to check your bag, do it at the counter inside. I fly a lot and I still am a very paranoid flier.
  • I'm a panicy flier too. I've only flown maybe 5 times in my life, and always the same two flights (it's a one hour flight, each way) and I still freak out. Last time I flew, in 2007, I almost had a panic attack when the plane took off.

So I have no advice for you except maybe just take a carry on and don't check your bag. That always makes me feel safer. And at least you know you're no alone/abnormal. ;)

  • Check your bags inside in line, and if they have the machines available go ahead and get your ticket there. Best thing ever, saves you time and headaches.

  • Check your bags at the desk. If there is only a kiosk, usually there are attendants there to help you. Be sure to bring a book or something to entertain yourself during the flight. I would recommend getting upgrading to first class, being sat next to a hot guy, and enjoying cocktails throughout the flight. But, that is just my opinion ;)

  • bring your own snack.  having something you made that you like to eat might help you feel back in control.

  • re: a snack - the don't serve any food on plane rides anymore unless they are trans-atlantic. I like food more often than they think I should. I recommend this.

  • Yeah, I had to buy a sandwich on the plane when I flew to Hawaii. I guess I didn't read the fine print. It was from LA to HI, and a sista only had 45 minutes between flights.

I just gave them my $10.
