Can I get some crossed fingers or something? Vent.

I'm so sick of apartment hunting. Every place we go to has something wrong with it from Man's perspective (though I agree with some). There is a place we love, but the price changes daily and it hasn't gotten to a level we are willing to pay. It probably won't, but he has his heart set on it so nothing else is good enough.

I just want to find a dang place. We're looking at a house tonight which could be really nice, and is in our price range. Hopefully I can get some stuff scheduled for Saturday in an area I like better (Hillcrest). Can I just get some crossed crossables that something at a decent price will finally meet our needs?

  • Oh, major bonus with a house: no upstairs/downstairs neighbors! Promise him loud sex if he agrees to the house.

  • How about if he gets to pick the house, you get a puppy? <--- puppy pusher

  • He's going to have to compromise on something. You always have to.

    Small closet

    Small kitchen

    Far from work

    Bad parking

    You get the idea.

  • Why did you look at a place that was outside your range, just out of curiosity? I'd think that's the easiest way to get stuck on what you can't have.
  • It does have a backyard with a horseshoe pit. I just don't love that it's in the suburbs so I don't get the walk to everything feel. If it's awesome I will compromise though, I can live without everything. He doesn't want to compromise at all - but I'm sure he will eventually.

Jojo, you have no idea. I sent him the new pics from FB yesterday with "these guys are still available if you know anyone." He said, I do know someone, me! But it's even harder to find a place (apartmentwise anyway) that allows dogs, let alone big dogs or ones on the restricted breed list. :(

Because there are days when it is in our range. The day we looked it was, but they didn't have a unit available. So, we keep checking to see if it's back in that range.

  • Ah, okay.

Are pits really restricted in SD? I hear of mythical places that ban the breed, but I guess I didn't realize quite how common it was until after we really started preparing for Herbert.

H and I briefly worried that we might have a problem when 3 neighbors (who have never spoken to us before) asked what kind of dog Herbert was when they first saw her. But so far no one has actually complained, not that they have a reason to.

You might find that individual landlords renting houses are more likely to allow dogs than big complexes with management companies...so another plus for the house.
