sorta GL related....In the Middle is a horrible horrible tv show
All this family does is eat fast food in the car or in front of the TV. Are we really condoning this? Seriously, it's been on for less than 2 minutes and we've seen them eat burgers in front of the TV and then the next day the dad comes home with a bag of fast food for dinner again.

Re: sorta GL related....In the Middle is a horrible horrible tv show
This show reminds me of Rosanne, the whole premise is that it's real people not beautiful actors in expensive houses. The reality is for most people working two jobs that fast food/processed food is a main part of their every day diet. Hence the huge rates of obesity and diabetes.
This was my point!
Jamie Oliver has a great cookbook out about how to cook simple food at home. I agree with him that part of the problem with people buying processed foods is they just don't know how to cook low cost meals.
Roseanne featured working parents (sometimes out of work), and they ate dinner together as a family at the table.
Maybe they didn't eat organic/local foods, but they didn't eat out and ate on the cheap. There was an episode where Roseanne taught a home ec class about budget shopping for groceries.
I find "In the Middle" to be depressing. It has its moments, but I quit watching it.
