I have an interview next week.
I'm not even remotely nervous because it's in my office, but hello awkward much?!
Do I wear a suit? We're typically business casual - dress pants, button up shirts, sweaters, etc. If I wore a jacket I would totally stick out. There are about 15 people in my group and it would even stick out of I just brought the jacket in with me and only wore it in the conference room. (And I have one of those coworkers that would point it out and start with the questions...) But, OTOH, I feel like I need to wear a suit to an interview. It's just what I've always done. I would feel so awkward if I didn't. I think this is a lose/lose.

Re: F/U: Resume
i would wear the suit. i'd bring the jacket and be as inconspicuous as possible, but i'd still do it. I think the great impression of your seriousness in the job opportunity that the interviewers would see should trump the questions you get from your coworkers.
oh, and congratulations and good luck!
this.
good luck! you'll do great.
It's Minneapolis and it's cold. Layers, layers, layers. :-)
Yay! Congrats & good luck!
I would do a "dressier" business casual with maybe slacks/skirt, with a nice blouse and an open button down sweater (in lieu of a jacket) with nice pumps.

Hahahahaha! Whatchu talkin' bout? It's 30 degrees today. We're all pretending we live in Florida
It's suprising how different 30 can feel in a week. It feels much warmer coming from -10 degree temps than 80 degree temps!
Thanks for the advice girls. I will go with the suit. I hope nosey coworker calls in sick that day.

I like this idea too, although my coworkers would probably be even more shocked if they saw me in a skirt. Lol. Either way, a good excuse to hit up some sales and update the work wardrobe.

I totally agree with this. The person interviewing you knows you already work there and the dress code for the new position is also business casual so I don't think they'd expect you to wear a suit. A slightly dressier version of what you would normally wear is completely appropriate.
ditto! good luck!
Ditto the girls on attire - good luck!!
Agree with the ladies, wear the jacket. I've always felt that dressing the part is key to the interview...If you feel fabulous, you'll be fabulous right!
Good luck Andrea!
