men and sickness...

So, I didn't get off work till 10pm last night.  On my way home I called DH and we talked about his day on my drive home.  He said he had a fever during work and felt terrible and had stopped by HEB on the way home to get some chicken noodle soup.  By 8pm he was feeling much better.  Fine, great.

So I just opened up our pantry.  He bought like 6 cans of chicken noodle soup.  SIX?  Was that necessary, DH??? I will never eat it - and he won't want it again until he's sick.  In the mean time... it's taking up tons of space.  Sigh.  I think he panics when he doesn't feel well and stocks up like he's going to be locked away for a month.

Re: men and sickness...

  • If thats all, that's nothing.  I've been up in the middle of the night the past two nights with a sick husband.  And, by "sick", I mean congested and his throat hurts.  Ridiculous.

My DH is the biggest baby when it comes to illness.  Usually I can take it but in the middle of the night its really annoying.

  • haha.. maybe it was the value pack and he thought he was getting a great deal.

  • Hahahaha! I thought this was going to be a, "Men are such babies when sick..." post.

I had about the same number of chicken noodle soups in my pantry. I got sick and DH actually went to the grocery store for me! I asked for oatmeal and something else, and butter. He came home with oatmeal, CRISCO, and at least 6 cans of soup (and $100 worth of crap food for himself). I HATE Chicken Noodle Soup. Even if I liked it ... I don't need that much! He said, "But ... but ... you're sick. You have to each chicken noodle soup when you're sick." I ended up taking the soup to my company food drive.

  • At least you're ready for the next canned food drive!

  • Well, he bought the soup himself. That puts him a step ahead of my guy already!
We have so much time, and so little to do! Strike that, reverse it.

    ditto!

My DH swears he has a freaking tumor every time his neck hurts.
Really DH?  Really?  It drives me nuts.  A little allergies and he swears it's a sinus infection.  Then I ask if he took any meds...of course not.  I give him OTC meds and he's magically fine Confused

My DH does the same thing.  At the slightest sign of congestion he suddenly has a "sinus infection" and has to sit on the couch all day and play PS3 and Mafia Wars.
