I am a Houston nestie and have some tourist questions.
We are going on a family trip this summer to Knoxville to see my in-laws and then on to Pigeon Forge.
We would like to rent a cabin. We are going with my son who will be 10 months or so and my SS who will be 14.
I would like recs on cabins, resorts, restaurants and things for us to do.
Also, what will the weather be like?
Thanks
Re: Pigeon Forge trip
Weather this Summer will be hot and humid. If you plan on hiking farther up in the mountains might want to bring jeans and light long sleeve shirt/coat b/c it can get cooler up there.
There are TONS of cabins and I've never rented from the same company twice. Just google pigeon forge cabins and you will find a lot of rental companies.
My favorite restaurants in Pigeon Forge are Smokey Mountain Brewery (they have great home brews if you like beer), Old Mill (if you want country/family style food), Pancake Pantry for breakfast/lunch (it's in Gatlinburg), The Peddler (it's in Gatlinburg and is a little more expensive but they have yummy steaks), and La Carreta (Mexican).
Definitely go to Dollywood (amusement park), do some hiking and check out the National Park, drive up to Gatlinburg and walk around for some shopping and sight seeing. There are tons of outlets in Pigeon Forge if you want to shop. Lots and lots to do for a week and stuff for the whole family.
Enjoy your trip!
we recently went to Pigeon Forge and we stayed with
