Going to Orlando area this weekend- need recs and reviews!
We live in the Destin/Ft. Walton area, and are headed to Orlando tomorrow until Sunday. We won't be there until late tomorrow night, but are looking for things to do on Saturday other than Disney/Universal Studios. It will be myself, DH, and another couple. All I can come up with so far is heading to Ikea :]
Also- on Sunday (while my husband is at a meeting) I've booked a massage/facial/pedicure at Blush Spa in Altamonte Springs. Has anyone ever been there, and WDYT? Thanks!
Re: Going to Orlando area this weekend- need recs and reviews!
I would go see Cirque du Soliel at Downtown Disney..it is an awesome show!
The Cirque Show is def a good idea. But even just going to downtown disney is also fun! You may be able to catch a good concert at House of Blues. If you like dancing they have clubs and I believe you can get a club hop pass.
Also Universal City walk at night is a great time.
If you like lounges The Blue Martini is very nice by the Mall of Millenia (the mall is great too!)
There are outlet malls on International Drive
The clubs at Pleasure Island near Downtown Disney are no longer open. The House of Blues is though. If you want to go to clubs either downtown Orlando or Citywalk at Universal.
There are tons of places for mini golfing - my favorite is Winterland/Summerland at Disney.
There is a great boat tour on the water in Winter Park.
Saturday morning you guys can head to Winter Park and go to the Farmers Market and walk around Park Avenue... have brunch at the Briar Patch! There is also a farmers market on Sundays downtown.... you can go to the farmers market and walk around Lake Eola... have brunch at the White Wolf Cafe
If you want to go to Downtown Orlando you can go to the City Arts Factory they have a glass blowing class that looks really cool. I've scene it on the travel channel I've never done it myself; however, it's on my things to do list!
If you like art you can go to the Orlando Museum of Art it's not the most prestigious art museum but they ahve an amazing chihuly sculpture.
I also third Cirque Du Soleil...it's an amazing show!!! I would rather spend the money on that show than Blue Man Group (IMO). House of Blues has an amazing Gospel Brunch on Sunday's.... they also have great jambalaya!
Downtown Disney also has a new Balloon Ride, which I've heard is pretty cool. If it happens to be a rainy day Disney Quest is a lot of fun too!
If you decide to go to citywalk I want to say a club pass is like $12 and it gets you into all the clubs. They are all diverse and offer a variety of options... Red Coconut Club and Rising Star (it's a karaoke club) are my favorites!
Have fun!!!
Ditto for Cirque. Also CityWalk has a Meal & Party Pass deal that is great, I think it's about $22 unless the price has gone up and includes a fixed menu at most of the restaurants (includes tip) as well as the club pass.
Yes great ideas everyone.
