Talk to me about Craigslist
Once we move into our house, we will have a spare washer/dryer and microwave. I've sold on eBay forever, but it doesn't seem like I would have as much luck there with something that has to be picked up locally.
I've never used Cragislist, but it seems like a better option. Are there any tips/tricks I should know ahead of time?
TIA!
Re: Talk to me about Craigslist
Well- I'm not going to be much help- but wanted to say I am trying to sell a TV that I have listed on Craigslist and eBay. The eBay 'local pickup' response has actually been ok- but I got kind of screwed because a guy made an offer on Ebay- I accepted and then he didn't pay- so I had to wait that process out before relisting it.
You might try listing it on eBay with all the details, a Buy It Now or Best Offer option and then list it on Craigslist with the eBay item number listed- that way if someone is interested, they can go right to eBay to pay for it through PayPal and it adds another layer of protection for you.
I personally haven't put anything on either but DH has done both EBay and Craigslist. We have had much better response w/ Craigslist, we sold our boat and some racing tires. I think with the local pick up you would do better w/ Craigslist but you never know.
GL!
Congratulations on the new house!!!!
Yeah.. .craigslist is hit or miss... just throw it up, say "or best offer" and be patient
Don't forget newspaper classifieds- those are classic places to look for those items. We needed a microwave after we moved and I skimmed the Daily Deal in the Star every day.
