Moms or those TTC, come in quick!

I have an annual exam/pre-conception visit later this morning with my PCP that DH and I are both going to. Can you think of any questions I should be asking??

Re: Moms or those TTC, come in quick!

  • When I had that appointment I wasn't sure what to ask either.? I wanted to ask everything!? I remember asking about prenatal vitamins and the amount of folic acid I needed.? I also asked about different OB recommendations that my PCP knew of (I had no idea at that point).? I think I may have also asked about nutrition but that was discussed more after our BFP.? They also sent me for bloodwork that day to make sure my levels were all on target.??

Good luck and let us know how it goes!!
  • i would tell them that you are ttc, and then ask them what you should know....

    that should cover you  =)

Oh Mrs. D, you are so smuckin fart, what would I EVER do without you? hehe... you are most certainly right!

  • i dont know if i would say smart.... thats just how i would have to do it because i could come up with a list but then forget every single ? i had for them and if i wrote it all down, would have lost or forgotten the paper by the time i got there. ;)
  • i had mine in January and i basically asked her why i wasn't pregnant after 9 months of active sex-a-thons.

to sum it up: "Doc, i'm trying to get pregnant & it's not happening- what should i do?" they'll usually take it from there!

  • Yes, just tell them you are ttc, they'll know what to do :) They should offer you some tests and put you on prenatal vitamins.
  • I just had my annual exam last week. When I told her we would be TTC soon, she just said to take pre natals, and continue eating right and exercising. She didn't have much else to say.
  • same as PPs ... ask her what you can be doing ... exercise is invaluable ... I truly believe regular exercise affects ovulation ... I swear by yoga and am certain it played a huge role in how quickly I got pregnant.  Eating well helps, too.  I didn't take PNVs, I just took 800 mcg of Folic Acid - my OB didn't feel I needed to take PNVs if I was taking the FA.  Good luck!!!!  =)
  • I never had a pre-conception visit b/c I got my bfp the day before my appointment. She just made sure I had pre-natal vitamins and gave me a referral to the ob
  • I ditto everyone else, but wanted to say have a good appt and I want to hear about it when you get back!
