Is it feed a cold...

starve a fever or am I getting it backwards?

Re: Is it feed a cold...

  • I have no idea.  I haven't heard that saying in forever.  If you're getting sick I hope you feel better soon, though!

  • Sad but true I'm getting sick yet again.  I spent most of these first two months of marriage with: the flu (it came on the first day after our wedding!), broncitus (pardon my spelling), and a cold.  I've only had two weeks since the cold cleared up and now it's the same symptoms all over again... I'm ready to give up!
  • I had bronchitis a month or so ago and it was the worst.  I haven't been that sick in awhile.  I've been sneezing a lot lately, so I hope I'm not catching the cold that's been going around work.

  • I think that's right!

Do you take any supplements, Bets? I've found that since I've started taking supplements like Spirulina and Acidophilus in addition to my daily vitamin, when I get a cold it tends to be very weak compared to when I used to get them. If I've been around people that are sick or I get the slightest feeling that a cold is coming on, I take Vitamin C supplements in addition to drinking OJ and trying to eat good meals regularly and it really seems to curb my cold symptoms. I very rarely even have to take cold pills.

*knock on wood* I probably just jinxed myself, lol

  • Thanks Laura!  I've been drinking my echinacia tea but will try these too.  Especially since the dayquil I took yesterday did nothing for me.  There is another outbreak of some sort down stairs and Rob was a little sick last week. Good luck keeping healthy!
