Re: So, what are you doing ..

  • Good for you guys! L_Woods posted some yesterday. I think it's titled "For those who want to help Haiti."

  • yele.org

it's wyclef jean's. I'm not sure why I trust it more than the others, but I do.

edit: I donated what I could, which was only $50..

  • It's too early to be laughing this hard, Nico.
  • I gave to Yele, and I giving a offering through my church on Sunday. We already have missionaries in Haiti, and I know that the money will get on the ground faster.

More than money, I'm sending my prayers for them daily. It's such a sad situation.

  • Nicole, I understand your usually humor, but in this situation I don't get it.

Do but do you really feel that way about it?

  • Save the Children.  Not much, but what we could afford.  (The first option on their online form was $15,000 and I was like, "Um, no.  I wish.")

I posted on TB that I feel like I should be doing more.  Like typing in my debit card number isn't really that much.  I know everyone says that what they need most right now is money, but I have irrational thoughts about sending the Woozle's old baby clothes or something for people who have nothing.  But I know that's dumb--the airport is jammed, the seaport is a mess, me sending boxes of baby clothes "To:  People in Haiti" is just ridiculous.  So I sent money to the Haiti Earthquake Children in Emergency Fund and have left it at that, for now.

  • Here is a helpful website if you have doubts about who to donate to.

  • Yes, NOLA.  I have a cold, hard heart.  I'm sorry Haiti is in a bad spot right now but it's been in a bad spot for years.  It took a natural disaster for people to send aid?  IMO, that's terrible.  I appreciate that everyone wants to help, but I will not be one of those people.

  • Nicole, I think that people have been trying to help Haiti. You would just have to look at the number of missionaries, medical teams, and orphanages that were there during the earthquake.

Thanks, for leting me know how you feel on the subject. I don't agree, but now I know why you're made the comments that you have on the subject.

  • O, thanks for posting that.  That was one reason I chose STC (4 stars) over the Red Cross (3 stars).

  • O, good looking out.
