Please to be reassuring me

My rings haven't fit since April.  DH asked if I'd like them resized and I told him I'd wait until June (my birthday).  If they didn't fit me by then, he could have them resized.

For some reason, I've started to become very beebee about it lately.  DH wants to have the rings resized for Feb 13, which is the 3 year anniversary of our engagement.  He thought it would be nice to give me the rings again (also beebee).

Have you had any experience with having rings resized to a larger size?  Also, I do plan to lose all of this baby weight at some point in my life, so if the rings are too big after the weight loss, would it hurt the rings to have them resized again?

Re: Please to be reassuring me

  • i couldn't wear my rings until probably 6 months or so after miles was born.  i did need to get my wedding ring resized.  it was actually smaller than my engagement ring by 1 size.

  • i know someone this happened to.  SHE HAD TO HAVE SURGERY TO GET A NEW HAND.

p.s.  i don't think this is beebee.  ask a jeweler.  actually, ask a few jewelers.

  • I'd also recommend asking jewelers.  I know when we bought H's ring, we were told that there is a limit to the number of times a ring could be resized before it started damaging the ring.  I'm not entirely sure that's true, but that is one thing you might want to check on.
  • We had to have both of my rings resized because I am a big fatty compared to my grandmother (the original owner of the set). Also, we had to buy an entirely new ring for H, as his was titanium (which can't be resized) and he is the incredible shrinking man.

It's no BFD. Also, let your H be a beebee if he wants to be. He rarely is, so I'd give him a pass.

  • Thanks for the adviSe.  I'll check it out with our jeweler and see what they say.  I just want my riiiiiiings.
