So as it turns out (as stated in previous post)...my dream floors are probably just that- a dream due to $$$. I haven't ruled them out totally but am opening up to other options.
Show me your hardwood/laminate floors please...it's hard for me to picture them in a room from just a small square or seeing them in the store. My couches are a brownish/green and coffee table is a dark cherry and I've added another coffee table- chocolate brown. I promise it all looks good together. Here are pics of the furniture. Any advice and/or ideas?

The TV in the above pic is gone...now one is mounted on the wall with the coffee table below under it...

Re: Show me your laminate/hardwood floors..
we did dark floors - engineered wood - so not the price of hardwood, but it looks just as good (in my opinion).
i think we are friends on fb? if so you can go thru my mobile uploads - i have photos of our nov. installation of them.

Sorry I can't find a picture that shows more of the floor. We love ours although I don't recommend for people with dogs (our 60 lb dog has scratched them up a lot). They are Mirage maple. I love that they are dark brown but not reddish or blackish.
Our hardwood floors. We also have the same wood in the master bedroom.
It's not the best picture of them, but it's a "beaten" looking hard wood.
Here is a picture that shows our laminate floors. They are $2/sq ft at home depot.
Here are our engineered hardwood floors. It took DH less than a work day to install the family room flooring. Hand-scraped in Sienna (I think?) at Home Depot. (Please pardon our dog...not sure what he's doing in the photo.)
haha...I've already been stalking your blog today! Wow...I really appreciate the before/after pics you posted- makes a HUGE difference!
They look even better with our new couches. You can probably kind of see them in a lot of my Caroline pictures.
Your furniture will look great with wood/laminate!
What kind are they? Are they a laminate/engineered or real wood? I very often have 3+ large dogs in my house and when I redo the floors, I obviously want to avoid anything that'll scratch badly. TIA!
we have engineered wood too and when we bought it we were shown that we could also buy this marker/pen thing that paints over light scratches. maybe something like that would help with yours? i have never used it, we didn't buy it, but just an idea.
