Suggestions for a Baptism Luncheon

I was thinking of hot roast beef and some hoagie trays.  The distance btwn the church and my house is about 35 minutes, so I didn't want anything too complicated, and something that could be easily prepared beforehand.  Any suggestions?

Re: Suggestions for a Baptism Luncheon

  • I think that sounds great because you can leave the roast beef in the crock pot until you are ready. You could serve macaroni or pasta salad (which can be made ahead of time), a veggie tray (ahead of time), maybe some other hot side (baked beans, mac and cheese, or something) and chips and dip. You throw in a cake and you are good to go. It can all be prepared ahead.
  • Sounds good, I agree with pp on other sides too.
  • I enjoy entertaining, but only if its easy and I can make things ahead of time...If you wanted an easy but show-stopping dessert instead of just a sheet cake this Fantastic Trifle is SO good and I even think it's better if you make it the night before....If you wanted and easy appetizer instead of the same old veggie tray, my absolute favorite, and super easy is the Mediterranean Layered Dip. You simply layer the ingredients and its really healthy too!
