::Mrs Kocal::

I'm sorry you're dealing with the m/s right now! I know it really sucks. I constantly was eating or drinking - I joked that my purse was a mini-mart! Pretzels, crackers, mints, ice cream, popsicles (probably because it was august, but these were great). And then since I could not stand drinking water (weird!) I was drinking, lemonade, watered down juice, iced tea (peppermint). I also got into the habit of having a fruit smoothie in the morning to help. Oh, and take your prenatal vitamin right before bed so it doesn't add to the m/s.

It mostly worked for me, but basically eating all the time (every hour or so) helped. I was pretty much nauseous the entire time 24/7, and the few times I threw up, it was just going to happen. I hope it gets better. I'll try to remember other coping stuff I did.

Re: ::Mrs Kocal::

  • thank you for the tips!! I can't stand water right now either!!  At the moment, I have ginger ale, iced tea and a bottle of water on my desk...

    A popsicle sounds good right about now....maybe I'll email DH and ask him to pick up some on the way  home.  Poor guy, I email him the strangest requests every day - basically, whatever food I can think of that doesn't make me want to gag is what I need to eat.

  • Kocal--so I'm assuming all is well with your u/s news! So happy for you and DH! As for the morning sickness, I was spared one of few lucky ones, in that I had bouts of nausea, but it never caused me to vomit. But, when commuting, (when it strike me in the morning or evening)  crackers and water certainly helped. Can't wait to hear more!

    sorry to butt in

    I'm feeling the same way and it pretty much sucks. I just keep reminding myself it'll pass in a few weeks or at least I hope it does. I really want to start feeling normal again so I can at least function. Has you doctor given you anything. I'm on reglan and zoftran. It helps with the actual vomiting but I'm still feeling nauseus pretty much all day. Hope you start feeling better.

  • I haven't talked to the doc about the m/s yet.  I have an appt on Saturday and I plan on bringing it up then.  Right now, I have Sea Bands on - I'm not sure if they are working but I didn't throw up this morning so that's a good sign.  I am scared to take them off because if this is them working, then I don't even want to know how I would feel without them!
