Well isn't this just freakin fantastic.

So I go for my annual physical today. Everything looks great. Everything, except my left breast. They found a lump, and are sending me in for an ultrasound, and possible biopsy. Grrrrreat.

Re: Well isn't this just freakin fantastic.

  • Oh no!  When is the u/s?  I'll be thinking good thoughts for you...
  • Ugh, I'm sorry :( Hopefully it is nothing...my left breast has given me problems since my 20's....first I found a lump and them my doctor sent me for an ultrasound and then they found 2 lumps - both were biopsied and turned out just to be fibroadinomas...then recently I found another lump in my left breast - shortly after Austin was born....I had to go for an ultrasound again, but nothing showed up on the ultrasound and my Dr. tried to aspirate it as well....eventually whatever it was, went away....but it is very nerve wracking to find lumps in your breast, regardless if you are high risk or not....I'm sure everything will be fine - hang in there - *HUGS*
  • Well, I know it's stinky and scary.  Here's my pep talk:

Hopefully, it's nothing.  But, isn't it a really good thing that you went to your physical today and they are acting right away to figure out what the issue is?  HUGS!!

  • I am sure it is nothing to be concerned about! Better safe than sorry, right? ((hugs)) Everything will be fine! :)
  • I'm so sorry but like pp's have said - hopefully its nothing and at least you and your docs are being proactive now!
  • oh no!!  Try not to worry.  It won't change any outcome.  That being said, it probably isn't anything TO worry about.  It could just be a cyst or something else completely benign.  "Don't trouble Trouble till Trouble troubles you."  Please let us know of any updates you have!!!
  • Oh no!!  I"m sorry to hear this!!  Please stay positive!  I hope that its nothing.  Please keep us updated!   ((big hugs))
  • That's a pain, but I hope the ultrasound comes out clean for you!
  • UGH...I'm sorry.  Hopefully, it is nothing ....try not to worry too much.  Harder to say...I know.  Good thoughts coming your way...
  • Lumps are very common. I've had many and have had 3 good friends who also had them. I'm prone to fibroadenomas (benign lumps) and each one gets a biopsy. The U/S will tell if it's solid or a cyst. If it's solid they will probably order a biopsy just to make sure (but it's still probably nothing). I have had 5 biopsies (as well as lots of u/s and mamograms) over the past 10 years just to be on the safe side. Best of luck and as PPs said try not to worry.

  • oh good luck.  Just remember that ultrasounds and stuff in young women tend to get false positives.  I start with my first mammogram next year considering the history in my fam.
  • Sorry, Angela. ?That must be pretty scary. ?Try to hang in there until you find out the results of everything. ?In the meantime, I am sending my thoughts and prayers that everything is just fine!!! ?((hugs))
  • Oh no!  I hope it isn't anything. Keep us posted.
