Recommend EF washer/dryer

We're potentially buying a home w/o a washer/dryer included and I'm doing research on which product has the best bang for the buck while being energystar rated/eco-friendly?

TIA!

Re: Recommend EF washer/dryer

  • We got the LG WM2301HR washer and dryer set - http://www.lge.com/ca_en/home-appliances/washers/LG-WM2301HR.jsp

    We freaking love them!

  • tarinay- how'd you decide on that model? it's definitely pretty. I'm looking through the energy star website for an efficient one- there's too many to choose from these days.

  • My husband did actually Embarrassed  Its energy star compliant and as far as water usage is concerned, it has load sensory program in determining the amount of water needed for each load.

FWIW, my husband's an environmental scientist - specifically in the renewable energy field - and these machines meet his standards.

I'll definitely take his/your word on this. That rating system on energy star's website is a little confusing.  Did you get this dryer: http://www.lge.com/us/appliances/dryers/LG-electric-dryer-DLE2301W.jsp#reviews  ?

We did.  I also spoke with my husband earlier and he said that while its not the most energy efficient its still a pretty good dryer.

  • a word of caution about lg, they have a somewhat limited service area, so I would verify that they have servicers available in your area before purchasing.

i would probably go with the whirlpool duet if you have the room.

  • also, lg was sued and is having the energy star label removed from some of it's units. fyi.
