Questions about no poo.

I think I'd like to give it a try, but have a few questions for you first:

1.  How do you keep it, or do you mix it at every shower?  I was thinking I could reuse a shampoo bottle for the paste, but what about the vinegar rinse?

2.  Do you rinse out the paste with water, or do you rinse it out with the vinegar?

Thanks!

Re: Questions about no poo.

  • 1. I keep a baking soda paste in a little jar. The vinegar I keep in an old honeybear. (it squirts out just enough and is cute!)

    2. I rinse out the baking soda with water first. I have really thick hair, so I need to work to get it all out, before rinsing with vinegar.

  • I have 2 peri-bottles that I use from when I had my sons.
  • Instead of a paste I mix the baking soda with water and keep it in a plastic bottle that used to have face toner. I keep a vinegar/water mix in another identical bottle.

Ditto.  I think we missed something.  This is a REALLY weird thread without a back story, I have to say.

It's been discussed on here a few times, but basicaly no-poo is eliminating or reducing using shampoo to avoid stripping your hair of natural oils.  Some people use ACV as a rinse and baking soda as a cleanser.  This explains more about it:

I've seen it mentioned on here in several threads, so being new to the board, went to google.  It's using baking soda paste to wash and apple cider vinegar to rinse.

  • I keep the ACV in a squeeze bottle that is like the honeybear.

I make the paste every time I shower with it. I have been doing it now for about 3 or 4 months. And I am mostly happy with it. My hair needs to have some shine... and I think I am going to do the eggs/applesauce mix to bring back the shine. My hair has taken a lot of abuse over the years.

Does anyone know of a recipe for a good ef leave in conditioner? Like a spray?
