kindle 2?!

So I just ordered the Kindle 2, wanted some feedback from anyone who owns one?? I used to own the Sony Reader (Sony's own version of the Kindle) but I returned it after further researching into the Kindle. Buying books for the Sony Reader was MUCH more expensive, and I love how the Kindle is also wireless and doesn't need a computer to download books! Let me know any problems you've had or hopefully how much you love it! :)

Re: kindle 2?!

  • I have the K2 and love it.

I've not had the Sony, so I can't compare the two.

No problems whatsoever and I use it all the time.

    Hope is not a strategy.
  • Enjoy! I was going to buy Kindle 2, but I ened up buying a nook. I LOVE it! That being siad, my friends who have Kindles love theirs.
  • Got one as a gift, I like it more than I thought I would ... especially for traveling.  Good battery life when the wireless function is turned off.
  • I love my kindle. I use it all the time. With the wireless off it lasts about 2 weeks.
  • I am considering getting a Nook, but am worried that i'll miss the flipping of the pages and looking at my bookmark to see how much I've read or how much more I have to go. Do you get those feelings or does the e-reader just make up for it in its awesomeness?

  • If you are considering the nook, most B&N stores have preview units that you can go play with.  I did that, and I loved it, and I ended up ordering one.  And I am super-duper enamored with it now!  I am sure I will still read a paper book on occasion, but I LOVE the nook!

I fell in love with it when I played with it at B&N, but just wasn't sure if I would miss having a real book in my hands. Good to know that you love yours! THats what I want to hear!

  • Even hard core reader friends of mine are jealous of the nook. Heck, a librarian fell in love with the nook and she said she would NEVER like an ereader. (D'oh!)

I'm not sure about the nook, but the Kindle has a status bar at the bottom that let's you know how far your've read and how much more you have. I thought I would be the same way, but I love my kindle. I read a lot before, but read even more now!
