To whom it may concern:
A few weeks back I had seen advertisements on the Disney Channel about your "Block Party Tour" so I looked online at the website that the advertisement directed me to for more information.
http://www.disneymusicblockpartytour.com/
My family lives in southern NH and the closest date on the tour that we were able to make it to was scheduled for today (Aug 5th) at Rentschler Field in CT. I didn't purchase tickets for the show ahead of time, rather just decided that since it was outdoors we would wait and see what the weather was going to be like when the day came. It said on the website that tickets would be available for purchase on the day of the event.
Fast forward to this morning when the weather was looking good, so I decided to pile into the car with my 2 small children to make the 2 hour drive to CT. I was disappointed to learn, upon arriving at Rentschler Field, that the entire tour had been cancelled (with the exception of the two kick-off dates on Long Island)! My children were CRUSHED (needless to say), as we had to then turn around and drive another 2 hours back home! Staff at Rentschler Field told me that MANY people were showing up for this show from all over the area (some who had tickets even) and they were sorry, but Disney and Ticketmaster unfortunately did not do a good job letting people know that they decided to cancel.
The Disney Channel is on in my house every morning and I even consulted the local Connecticut news channels (to check the weather forecast) before leaving the house to drive to this event. I am EXTREMELY disappointed and also surprised that a company as big as Disney is would not do a better job communicating to the public the canceling of an event like this!
We are so unhappy that we wasted a beautiful day because of your oversight!
Re: My complaint email to DISNEY!!
Follow up - Just now found a story from the CT local news station about this!

Hey Laura,
I can't even imagine how disapointed the kids must have been! That stinks! How crappy of them to cancel the show! E. Hartford is not that far from where I am. How did they do with that long in the car? Poor kids! Sucky Disney!
Chrissy -
The kids actually didn't do too bad and so that the day wasn't a COMPLETE waste of time, I wound up taking them to visit my Aunt, Uncle, and Cousin who live in Brimfield, MA! Thank goodness that it just happened to work out that they were home today and were happy to have us "drop in" on them!
Damn! I can't believe that happened!
A lot of parents at work were talking about maybe taking the day off and going to that... obviously now we won't be
Hey Laura, it worked out well that you had someone to visit! I was also thinking you could have gone to 6 Flags, but that sounds kind of like a daddy should come along to help wrangle the kids kind of outing. I was thinking Jakob would LOVE Wiggles world! Does he still love the Wiggles? And they have a Thomas land part, not sure if he is a Thomas fan.
Jakob IS a Thomas fan (very fond of trains in general too) and we actually did have plans to go to six flags a couple of weeks back - I think that he would have loved it. We were rained out that day, unfortunately!!!!
It never even occured to me to head over there today, though! My back up thought if my relatives weren't around was to look for a local playground and at least let them play and have a little picnic snack-time there before driving home!
